How Do I Make a Transparent Brush in Photoshop?

Last updated on September 24, 2022 @ 2:50 pm

There are a few ways to make a transparent brush in Photoshop. One way is to create a new layer, and then select the layer you want to be transparent. Right-click on the layer, and select “Create Clipping Mask.” This will make the layer below it invisible.

PRO TIP: Please be aware that making a transparent brush in Photoshop may not be possible, or may produce undesirable results. Try another method if you need a transparent brush.

You can also create a transparent brush by using the eraser tool. Select the area you want to be transparent, and then click on the “Erase” option in the top toolbar. You can also use the “Layer Mask” tool to make a layer transparent. Select the layer you want to be transparent, and then click on the “Layer Mask” icon in the bottom toolbar. This will create a mask over the layer, which you can then use to erase parts of the layer.
