How do I make an animated GIF in Figma?

Making an animated GIF in Figma is a breeze. First, create a new file in Figma and name it “gif.Figma”.

Then, add the following blocks to your file:

1. An Image Block to hold your GIF’s image!

2. A Text Block to hold your GIF’s text!

3. An Animation Block to control the animation of your GIF!

4. A Rendering Block to output your GIF!

5. A Frame Rate Block to set the frame rate of your GIF!

Now, add some content to your Image Block:

1. Add a photo or image of your choice!

2. Set the width and height of your image to the desired dimensions of your GIF.

3. Set the aspect ratio of your image to match the desired dimensions of your GIF.

4. Set the background color of your image to black.

5. Add a transparency effect to your image by setting the opacity to 100%.

Next, add some content to your Text Block:

1. Add your GIF’s title and description!

2. Set the font size and style of your text to match the style of your image. Set the font color of your text to white. Set the font opacity of your text to 100%. Add a border around your text to make it look nicer.

3. Add a line break after your text.

4. Add a line break before your text.

5. Add a link to your GIF’s website or YouTube channel in the “Link” field.

6. Set the text alignment of your text to left.

7. Set the text wrap of your text to “normal”.

8. Add your text to your file!

Now, add the Animation Block to your file:

1. Add a new animation called “gif_animation”.

2. Add a new animation controller called “gif_animation_controller”. Set the animation name of your animation to “gif_animation”. Set the animation duration of your animation to “1s”. Set the animation easing of your animation to “linear”. Set the animation type of your animation to “easing”. Set the animation start time of your animation to “0s”. Set the animation end time of your animation to “1s”. Set the animation loop count of your animation to “infinite”. Set the animation loop mode of your animation to “on-demand”. Add a new animation frame to your animation called “gif_animation_frame”.

3. Add a new animation controller called “gif_animation_controller_frame”.

4. Set the animation frame of your animation to “gif_animation_frame”.

5. Set the animation duration of your animation frame to “1s”.

6. Set the animation easing of your animation frame to “linear”.

7. Set the animation type of your animation frame to “easing”.

8. Set the animation start time of your animation frame to “0s”.

9. Set the animation end time of your animation frame to “1s”.

10. Set the animation loop count of your animation frame to “infinite”.

11. Set the animation loop mode of your animation frame to “on-demand”.

12. Add a new animation controller called “gif_animation_controller_frame_frame”.

13. Set the animation frame of your animation frame to “gif_animation_frame_frame”.

14. Add a new animation controller called “gif_animation_controller_frame_frame_frame”.

15. Set the animation frame of your animation frame to “gif_animation_frame_frame_frame”.

16. Set the animation easing of your animation frame to “linear.

PRO TIP: When creating an animated GIF in Figma, be sure to export your frames as PNGs. Interlacing GIFs can cause artifacts in your animation.
