Making an icon from a website in Illustrator is a simple process. First, open the website in your browser and save the image to your computer. Next, open Illustrator and create a new document. From the Illustrator toolbar, select the Rectangle tool (R) and click and drag the image onto the document. When the image is on the document, release the mouse button and the cursor will change to a crosshair. Click and drag the top-left corner of the image down until it is just below the baseline of the document. Release the mouse button and the cursor will change back to a crosshair. Click and drag the bottom-right corner of the image up until it is just above the baseline of the document.

PRO TIP: If you are looking to create an icon from a website in Illustrator, be warned that this can be a difficult and time-consuming process. There are a few things you need to keep in mind when attempting this, such as making sure the website’s colors are appropriate for the icon, and that the icon size is large enough to be visible on all devices. Additionally, try to avoid using images with too much detail, as this can make the icon look cluttered and busy.

Release the mouse button and the cursor will change back to a crosshair. Click and drag the left and right sides of the image to create a square. Click and drag the top-left corner of the square down until it is just below the baseline of the document. Click and drag the bottom-right corner of the square up until it is just above the baseline of the document. Press the F5 key to save the icon.

The finished icon will look something like this:.
