How Do I Make Edges Transparent in Photoshop?

If you have an image with soft edges, you can use the Gaussian Blur filter to make the edges transparent. To do this, select the area of the image with the lasso tool, and then go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur.

Enter a value between 0.5 and 1.0 for the amount of blur, and click OK. The edges of the selection will now be transparent.
