If you’re thinking about setting up a Shopify store, one of the first things you’ll need to do is choose a theme. Once you’ve done that, it’s time to start adding your products.
But what if you want to make changes to your store before making it live? In this article, we’ll show you how to do just that.
First, log in to your Shopify account and go to the ‘Themes’ section of your admin panel.
Once you’re in the ‘Themes’ section, you’ll see a list of all the themes that are currently installed on your store. If you hover over one of the themes, you’ll see two options: ‘Edit code’ and ‘Live preview’.
Click on the ‘Live preview’ button for the theme that you want to work on.
When you click on the ‘Live preview’ button, your store will open in a new tab and all changes that you make will be visible, but only to you. This means that none of your customers will be able to see the changes until you publish them.
Make the changes that you want to your store and then click on the ‘Publish’ button when you’re ready.
Once you click on the ‘Publish’ button, your changes will be live for everyone to see. That’s all there is to it!
How Do I Make My Shopify Store Not Live?
If for some reason you don’t want your Shopify store to be live, there are a few things that
you can do. First, log in to your Shopify account and go to the ‘Settings’ section of your admin panel.
In the ‘Settings’ section, there is an option called ‘Store status’. By default, this option is set to ‘Open’, but you can change it to ‘Closed’.
When you change the ‘Store status’ setting to ‘Closed’, your store will no longer be accessible by anyone. If you want to make it live again, simply change the setting back to ‘Open’.
