How Do I Make My Squarespace Site Under Construction?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 2:48 am

Are you working on a new website? Maybe you’re redesigning your old one?

Either way, you probably don’t want people to see your site until it’s ready. You can put your Squarespace site into “under construction” mode so that only people with the link can see it. Here’s how:

First, log into your Squarespace account and go to the “Settings” tab for the site you want to work on.

Next, click on the “Status” sub-tab.

Now, select “Private: Only people with the link can see this site.”

Click “Save.”

Your site is now in under construction mode! Only people with the link will be able to see it.

When you’re ready to launch your site, just go back into the “Status” tab and select “Public: Everyone can see this site. ”

PRO TIP: If you are planning to make your Squarespace site ‘under construction’, please be aware that this will disable all access to your site. This means that your site will not be visible to any visitors, and you will not be able to edit or add any content. If you need to make changes to your site, you will need to first re-enable access.

There you have it! Now you know how to put your Squarespace site into under construction mode.

This is a great way to work on your site without having to worry about people seeing it before it’s ready. Just remember to switch back to “Public” when you’re done.
