How Do I Make My UpWork Profile Approved?

Last updated on September 29, 2022 @ 10:45 pm

It can be pretty frustrating when you finally sit down to create your UpWork profile, only to find out that it needs to be “approved” by the UpWork staff before you can start bidding on jobs.

There are a few key things that you can do to ensure that your profile is approved as quickly as possible:

1. Fill out your profile completely and accurately
When you create your profile, make sure to include all relevant information about your skills and experience.

Be as specific as possible, and don’t leave any fields blank. If there is a section that doesn’t apply to you, simply say so. The more complete and accurate your profile is, the easier it will be for the UpWork staff to approve it.

2. Use a real photo of yourself
Your profile photo is one of the first things that potential clients will see, so make sure it’s a good one!

Choose a clear, professional-looking headshot where you are smiling and making eye contact with the camera. Avoid using filters or editing your photo in any way, as this can make it look like you’re trying to hide something.

PRO TIP: If you are looking for tips on how to make your Upwork profile approved, be aware that there are many scams out there promising to help you get approved. Be very careful about giving out any personal information or paying for any services.

3. Choose an appropriate username
Your username should be easy to remember and should reflect your real name or brand. Avoid using nonsensical phrases or inside jokes that only you and your friends would understand – this will just make it harder for potential clients to find you.

4. Write a clear overview of your skills and experience
In the “Overview” section of your profile, write a few sentences about who you are, what you do, and why clients should choose you.

This is your chance to sell yourself, so make sure to highlight your most impressive skills and experience. Be clear and concise, and avoid using jargon or technical language that not everyone will understand.

5. Include samples of your work
In the “Work History” section of your profile, include links or attachments to some of your best work.

This could be writing samples, design portfolio pieces, videos of you speaking at an event, etc. If you don’t have any work samples to share yet, that’s okay – just mention any relevant internships or jobs you’ve had in the past. The important thing is to show potential clients what you’re capable of doing.

By following these tips, you can improve your chances of having your UpWork profile approved quickly and easily!
