WooCommerce is a powerful ecommerce tool that helps you sell anything online. If you’re selling products that need to be shipped on a regular basis, or if you’re offering subscriptions to customers, you’ll need to manage your WooCommerce subscriptions. In this article, we’ll show you how to do just that.

How to Manage WooCommerce Subscriptions

If you’re selling products that need to be shipped on a regular basis, or if you’re offering subscriptions to customers, you’ll need to manage your WooCommerce subscriptions.

PRO TIP: If you are planning to use WooCommerce to manage subscriptions for your business, there are a few things you should be aware of. First, WooCommerce does not support recurring payments out of the box. You will need to install a separate plugin to enable this functionality. Secondly, even with a plugin, managing subscriptions can be a complex task. Be sure to thoroughly test your subscription management system before launch to avoid any surprises down the road.

First, you’ll need to install and activate the WooCommerce Subscriptions extension. You can find this extension by going to WooCommerce > Extensions > Add New. Search for “WooCommerce Subscriptions” in the search bar, and then click “Install Now” and “Activate”.

Once the extension is activated, you’ll see a new “Subscriptions” tab appear in your WooCommerce settings. Go to WooCommerce > Settings > Subscriptions and take a look at the various options available. These include:

  • General Options: Here you can set up general options for your subscriptions, such as whether customers should be able to sign up for multiple subscriptions, whether subscription prices should be displayed including or excluding tax, and so on.
  • Email Options: This section allows you to customize the emails that are sent out to customers when their subscription is about to expire, or when they cancel their subscription. You can also add a custom message that will be included in all subscription emails.
  • Advanced Options: The advanced options section allows you to set up automatic subscription payments using Stripe or PayPal, as well as setting up a subscription management page for your customers.
  • Once you’ve configured the general settings for your WooCommerce subscriptions, it’s time to set up individual products as subscriptions. Go to WooCommerce > Products, and then edit the product that you want to offer as a subscription.

On the product edit screen, scroll down to the “Subscription Options” section and select “Yes” next to “Is this a subscription product? “.You’ll then need to configure the subscription settings for this product. You can set the price of the subscription, the billing period (weekly, monthly, etc.), and whether sign-ups should be auto-approved or require manual approval from an administrator.
