How do I manually install a WordPress theme?

Installing a WordPress theme can be a daunting task, but it’s not as difficult as it may seem. In this article, we’ll walk you through the steps necessary to manually install a WordPress theme.

First, you’ll need to find the theme you want to install. You can find themes for all sorts of different WordPress versions on the WordPress.org theme website.

Once you’ve found a theme you want to install, head over to the WordPress.org theme repository and download the ZIP file.

Next, you’ll need to extract the ZIP file. Once you’ve extracted the theme, you’ll need to locate the folder that contains the theme files.

PRO TIP: Installing a WordPress theme manually is not a recommended process, as it can lead to errors on your website. If you are comfortable with code and are confident in your abilities, then you can follow the instructions below. Otherwise, we recommend using a WordPress theme that can be installed from the WordPress repository, or through your hosting control panel.

For example, if the theme is called “MyTheme,” the folder containing the files for the theme might be located at C:\Users\username\Documents\WordPress\Themes\MyTheme.

Once you’ve located the folder, you’ll need to copy the files contained in the folder to your WordPress theme directory. For example, if the theme is located at C:\Users\username\Documents\WordPress\Themes\MyTheme, you would need to copy the files to C:\Users\username\Documents\WordPress\Themes\MyTheme\_.

Finally, you’ll need to activate the theme in WordPress. To do this, open the WordPress admin area and click on the “Themes” link on the left-hand side.

Then, click on the “Activate” button next to the theme you just installed.
