How do I manually install WordPress on GoDaddy?

Last updated on September 25, 2022 @ 4:52 pm

If you’re looking to set up WordPress on your GoDaddy account, there are a few different ways you can go about it. The first is to manually install it on your server.

The second is to use a WordPress hosting service, such as WP Engine or Bluehost. The third is to use a WordPress plugin like Jetpack to do it for you.

To install WordPress manually, first head over to your server and install the WordPress installation package. Once that’s done, you’ll need to create a new WordPress site.

To do this, go to the WordPress site management page, select Sites, and then click Add Site. Enter the relevant information, such as the site name and the domain name, and then click Save.

Once your site is created, you’ll need to add the necessary WordPress resources. To do this, go to the WordPress site management page and select Settings.

Under the General tab, click Add Site Content. In the Add Site Content window, enter the following information:.

Name: WordPress

Description: This is a WordPress site.

URL: The URL of your WordPress site.

To add a blog to your WordPress site, go to the Blogs tab and click Add Blog. Enter the relevant information, such as the blog name and the domain name, and then click Save.

PRO TIP: If you are not comfortable with code, we recommend you stop here. The following instructions are for advanced users who are comfortable with code and the command line. For more help with this method, please contact GoDaddy support. Please note that we cannot provide support for code customizations or third-party plugins. If you are still reading, the following instructions will walk you through the process of manually installing WordPress on your GoDaddy hosting account.

Finally, you’ll need to add a WordPress plugin. To do this, go to the Plugins tab and click Add New. In the Add New Plugin window, enter the following information:

Description: Add a WordPress plugin

Type: Plugin

File: The plugin file you downloaded from the WordPress site.

Click Save to add the plugin to your WordPress site.

Once you’ve completed these steps, you’ll be ready to start using WordPress on your GoDaddy account. To do this, go to the WordPress site management page and select the site you want to use.

In the WordPress site management window, under the Site Content tab, click Blogs, Posts, Pages, and then click the blog you want to use. In the blog post editor, you’ll be able to start writing content and hosting your blog posts.
