How do I monitor my DigitalOcean droplet?

Last updated on September 25, 2022 @ 2:17 pm

When setting up a droplet on DigitalOcean, you are given the option to assign a public IP address or use a private IP address. You can also choose to use a droplet with a public DNS address or use a private DNS address.

If you use a public IP address, you can access your droplet by visiting the DigitalOcean website and inputting the public IP address. If you use a private IP address, you will need to set up a droplet DNS address.

PRO TIP: If you are not careful, monitoring your DigitalOcean droplet can be a very dangerous activity. There are many ways to do this, but the most common is to use a third-party service such as Pingdom or New Relic. These services can provide you with information about your droplet’s performance, but they can also give you access to sensitive information about your droplet’s configuration and internals. This information can be used to exploit vulnerabilities in your droplet, so it is important that you only use these services if you trust them completely.

To set up a droplet DNS address, log in to the DigitalOcean console and click on your droplet name. Under “Settings,” click on “DNS.

” In the “DNS” section, you will need to enter the droplet’s public IP address and the droplet’s private DNS address.
