How Do I Overlap Text in Squarespace?

One way to style text on a website is to use HTML tags. These tags allow you to control the font, size, color, and other aspects of text on your website. One common use of HTML tags is to overlap text in Squarespace.

To do this, you’ll need to use the < p > tag and the < b > tag. The < p > tag is used for paragraphs, and the < b > tag is used for bolding text.

To use these tags, simply enclose the text you want to style within the appropriate tags. For example, if you wanted to make a sentence bold and overlap it with another sentence, you would do something like this:

< p >< b >This is the sentence that will be bold and overlap the other sentence.< /b > < /p >
< p >This is the sentence that will be overlapped by the previous sentence. < /p >

PRO TIP: If you are not careful, overlapping text in Squarespace can result in your text being cut off or hidden. Make sure to preview your changes before publishing them, and be aware of how your text will look when viewed on different devices.

You can also use the < u > tag to underline text. This can be useful if you want to emphasize a word or phrase.

To use this tag, simply enclose the text you want to underline within the < u > tag. For example:

This sentence has been underlined.

You can also combine these tags to create more complex styles. For example, you could make a word bold and underlined by doing this:

< b >< u >This word is both bold and underlined.< /u >< /b >
There are many other HTML tags that you can use to style text on your website. These are just a few of the most commonly used tags. Experiment with different tags to see what effect they have on your text.
