How Do I Record UpWork Fees in QuickBooks?

As a freelancer, you are probably well aware of the importance of tracking your finances and knowing where your money is going. QuickBooks is a great tool for doing just that, and it can be especially helpful when it comes to tracking UpWork fees.

UpWork is a popular freelancing platform that allows you to find work and get paid for your services. However, like any other platform, it does come with some fees. In order to track these fees in QuickBooks, you will need to set up a separate account for them.

PRO TIP: If you are using QuickBooks to track your finances, be aware that there is no built-in way to track Upwork fees. This can lead to inaccurate records if you are not careful.

If you use Upwork and QuickBooks, we recommend creating a separate account in QuickBooks specifically for tracking Upwork fees. This will help ensure that your records are accurate and up-to-date.

To do this, go to the Accounts menu and click on “Create New.” From there, select “Other Current Asset” and name the account “UpWork Fees.” Once the account is created, you can then add transactions under it whenever you are charged a fee by UpWork.

Be sure to keep an accurate and up-to-date record of your UpWork fees so that you can stay on top of your finances and budget accordingly. QuickBooks can be a great help in this regard, so take advantage of its features to make tracking your UpWork fees easy and efficient.
