How Do I Remove Facial Hair in Photoshop?

There are a few ways to remove facial hair in Photoshop, and which one you use will depend on the image you’re working with. If the hair is relatively fine and there’s not too much of it, the Clone Stamp tool can be used to simply paint over it.

For thicker hair or larger areas, the Spot Healing Brush can be a better option. And for really stubborn hair, the Content-Aware Fill may be necessary. Let’s take a look at each of these methods in more detail.

The Clone Stamp tool is probably the simplest way to remove facial hair in Photoshop. Just select the tool from the toolbar, then Alt-click (Windows) or Option-click (macOS) to set the source point.

Next, paint over the facial hair with the Clone Stamp tool. If you need to clone from another area of the image, just release the Alt or Option key and click to set a new source point.

The Spot Healing Brush can be found in the same toolbar as the Clone Stamp tool. It works in a similar way, but instead of painting over the facial hair with pixels from another area, it attempts to automatically generate replacement pixels.

This can be useful if the hair is particularly thick or if there are a lot of individual hairs to remove. Simply click and drag over the area you want to fix, and Photoshop will do its best to fill in the gaps.

If neither of these methods is giving you good results, you may need to resort to Content-Aware Fill. This is a more advanced technique that requires you to make a selection around the area you want to fill, then choose Edit > Fill > Content-Aware from the menu.

Photoshop will analyze the surrounding pixels and generate new ones to replace those inside your selection. This can be a bit hit-and-miss, but it’s worth trying if other methods haven’t worked.

So there you have it – three ways to remove unwanted facial hair in Photoshop!
