How do I request migration on HostGator?

HostGator provides a migration tool that makes it easy for users to move their sites to the platform. To use the migration tool, first sign in to your HostGator account.

Once you are logged in, click on the “Migrate Sites” button on the left-hand side of the main navigation bar.

In the “Migrate Sites” panel, you will see a list of all the sites that are hosted on HostGator. To migrate a site, click on the site that you want to move. In the “Migrate Site” panel that pops up, you will see the following options:

1. “Hosting Provider” – This is the provider from which the site is hosted.
2. “Domain” – This is the domain name of the site.
3. “Site Title” – This is the title of the site.
4. “Site Description” – This is the description of the site.
5. “Site Age” – This is the age of the site.
6. “Site IP Address” – This is the IP address of the site.
7. “Site Status” – This is the status of the site.
8. “Site Path” – This is the full path to the site’s directory on the HostGator server.
9. “Site Files” – This is the list of files in the site’s directory.
10. “Site Pages” – This is the list of pages in the site’s directory.
11. “Site Categories” – This is the list of categories that the site is in.
12. “Site Tags” – This is the list of tags that the site is in.
13. “Site Author” – This is the name of the site’s author.
14. “Site Copyright” – This is the copyright information for the site.
15. “Migration Method” – This is the method that will be used to move the site.

To migrate the site, click on the “Migrate Site” button. “Path” – This is the full path to the site’s directory on the HostGator server. “CNAME Record” – This is the CNAME record for the site.

PRO TIP: If you are considering requesting migration assistance from HostGator, please be aware that there is no guarantee that your request will be completed or that your data will be successfully migrated. In addition, please be sure to backup your data before requesting migration assistance as HostGator will not be responsible for any lost or corrupt data.

To finish migrating the site, click on the “Finish Migrating” button. In the “Finished Migrating” panel, you will see the following message:

“The migration process for this site has been completed.”.
