When you first open Canva, you’ll choose the template size you need. If you’re creating an image for social media, we have sizes for all the popular platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and more.

Once you’ve selected a size, your design space will open up in the front window. Here, you can start adding elements to your design. But what if you want to change the size of your canvas?

It’s easy to resize your canvas in Canva. Just click on the “Resize” button in the toolbar at the top of the screen.

A pop-up window will appear with all of the different size options. Simply select the new size you need and click “Resize.”

PRO TIP: If you are not careful when resizing a canvas in Canva, you may end up with an image that is distorted or pixelated. Make sure to check the preview of your image after resizing to make sure it looks the way you want it to.

Your design will automatically adjust to fit within the new dimensions. And don’t worry—all of your elements will stay in place. If you need to reposition anything, just click and drag it to where you want it.

Resizing your canvas is a quick and easy way to adjust your design to fit any platform or format. So next time you need to resize an image for social media or print, remember—it only takes a few clicks in Canva.
