Last updated on January 24, 2023 @ 2:30 pm

In this article, we’ll cover how to restore Photoshop to its original state.

If you’re having trouble with Photoshop, it may be due to a corrupted preferences file. To reset Photoshop to its default settings, you can delete the preferences file.

On Windows, the file is located at C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2019 Settings\.

On macOS, the file is located at ~/Library/Preferences/Adobe Photoshop CC 2019 Settings/.

Once you’ve located the file, delete it and restart Photoshop.

PRO TIP: If you are having trouble with Photoshop, there are a few things you can do to try and restore it. First, try restarting your computer. If that doesn’t work, try reinstalling Photoshop. If you still can’t get it to work, contact Adobe customer support.

You can also try resetting Photoshop’s preferences by holding down Alt+Shift+Ctrl (Windows) or Option+Shift+Command (macOS) as you start Photoshop. A dialog box will appear asking if you want to delete the current settings. Click Yes, and Photoshop will start with default settings.

Conclusion:

Restoring Photoshop to its original state is a simple process. First, try deleting the preferences file.

If that doesn’t work, try resetting the preferences by holding down certain keys as you start Photoshop. With either method, you should be able to get Photoshop working correctly again.
