How Do I Restrict Shipping Location on Shopify?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 6:22 pm

There are a few different ways that you can restrict shipping locations on Shopify. One way is to use the built-in shipping settings.

To do this, go to your Shopify admin and click Settings. Then, click Shipping.

In the Shipping settings page, you will see a Restrict shipping to specific countries option. You can use this option to select the countries that you want to ship to.

PRO TIP: If you are planning to restrict shipping locations on your Shopify store, please be aware that this may impact your customers’ experience negatively. In particular, if they are trying to purchase from your store while located in a restricted shipping area, they will not be able to checkout. This could lead to frustration and lost sales.

Another way that you can restrict shipping locations is by using a third-party app. There are a few different apps that you can use for this purpose.

One option is the Country Specific Shipping app. This app lets you specify which countries you want to ship to and which countries you don’t want to ship to.

You can also use the Location Based Shipping app. This app lets you set up different shipping rates based on the customer’s location. For example, you could set a higher shipping rate for customers in Alaska than you would for customers in California.

If you want more control over your shipping options, then using a third-party app is probably the best way to go. However, if you just want to restrict shipping to a few specific countries, then using the built-in shipping settings will be fine.
