How Do I Rotate a Image in Photoshop?

Last updated on January 26, 2023 @ 8:16 am

There are a few different ways to rotate an image in Photoshop, depending on what you want to achieve:

To rotate an image by a specific amount:

1. Select the layer you want to rotate in the Layers panel.
2. Choose Edit > Transform > Rotate.
3. Enter the amount you want to rotate the layer in the Angle field, and then click the check mark or press Enter (Windows) or Return (Mac OS).

To freely rotate an image:

1. Position your cursor outside of the transformation border until you see the curved, double-headed arrow , and then drag to rotate the layer.

To constrain an image rotation to 45° increments:
(This is useful when you want to precisely rotate an object.)
1. Press and hold Shift as you drag any of the transformation border handles to constrain the rotation angle to 45° increments.

The < p >, < b >, and < u > tags are used to style text in HTML. The < p > tag defines a paragraph, the < b > tag defines bold text, and the < u > tag defines underlined text.

PRO TIP: If you are using Photoshop to rotate an image, be aware that this may result in a loss of quality.
