How Do I Save a Photoshop File When It Freezes?

It can be extremely frustrating when you’re working on a Photoshop file and it suddenly freezes. Not only does it waste your time, but it can also cause you to lose your work. Fortunately, there are a few things you can do to try and save your file.

1. Save a copy of the file: The first thing you should do is save a copy of the file. This way, if the worst happens and you can’t save the file, you’ll at least have a backup.

2. Try opening the file in another program: If Photoshop is having trouble opening the file, try opening it in another program like GIMP or Paint.net. Sometimes this can help fix the problem.

3. Convert the file to a different format: If all else fails, try converting the file to a different format. This won’t always work, but it’s worth a try. There are a lot of free file converters online that you can use.

Conclusion:

These are just a few things you can do to try and save a Photoshop file that’s frozen. If none of these methods work, then you may unfortunately have to start from scratch. But hopefully one of these will help you get your file back.

PRO TIP: If your Photoshop file freezes, try to create a backup copy immediately! This could lead to data loss and/or file corruption. In addition, try to close the file and reopen it. If that doesn’t work, you may need to restart your computer.
