How Do I Scan a Line in Photoshop?

Last updated on September 23, 2022 @ 10:02 pm

To scan a line in Photoshop, first make sure that the image is at least 300 pixels per inch. Next, open the image in Photoshop and go to Image > Image Size.

In the Image Size dialog box, make sure that the Resolution is set to 300 pixels/inch. Then, click OK.

Now that the image is at the correct resolution, we need to scan it. To do this, go to File > Automate > Photomerge.

PRO TIP: When scanning a line in Photoshop, it is important to make sure that the line is perfectly straight. Otherwise, the scanned image will be distorted.

In the Photomerge dialog box, select the Use: Files option and click Browse. Select the image that you want to scan and click Open.

Now that we have our image selected, we need to tell Photoshop how to scan it. To do this, go to the Layout drop-down menu and select Auto.

This will tell Photoshop to automatically decide how to best scan the image. Next, click OK.

Photoshop will now begin scanning the image. Once it is done, you will see the scanned image appear in a new window. From here, you can crop or resize the image as needed.
