There’s a couple different ways that you can select a channel in Photoshop. The first way is to click on the channel in the Channels panel.
This will make the channel the active one, and any changes that you make will be applied to that channel. You can also select a channel by clicking on its name in the Layers panel. This will make all of the layers in that channel visible, and you can then edit them as you wish.
The second way to select a channel is to use the Quick Mask mode. This allows you to quickly select an area of an image and then apply changes to only that area. To use Quick Mask mode, first click on the Quick Mask icon in the toolbar.
Then, use the brush tool to paint over the area that you want to select. The area that you paint will be selected, and the rest of the image will be masked off. You can then make changes to just the selected area.
When you’re finished with Quick Mask mode, simply click on the Quick Mask icon again to exit out of it. Your selection will remain intact.
