When a customer places an order on your WooCommerce store, they are essentially creating a “contract” with you to purchase goods or services. This contract is binding, and both parties are obligated to uphold their end of the deal. As the store owner, it is your responsibility to make sure that the customer receives the goods or services that they ordered in a timely and efficient manner.
One of the most important aspects of fulfilling orders is sending confirmation to the customer that their order has been received and is being processed. In WooCommerce, this is done by sending an “Order Received” email. This email contains important information about the order, such as the order number, date placed, items ordered, etc. It also contains a link to view the order details on your website.
The Order Received email is automatically generated and sent to the customer when an order is placed successfully.
However, there are times when you may need to manually send this email to a customer. For example, if a customer places an order but does not receive the Order Received email, you can manually send it to them from your WooCommerce admin panel. Here’s how:
First, make sure that the order is complete and all the necessary information is included. If you are unsure about anything, contact the customer directly to confirm the details.
Next, check the shipping address to ensure it is correct. If the customer has moved since placing the order, you will need to update the address before sending the new order.
Finally, make sure you include any special instructions for the customer in the notes section of the order. This will ensure that they know exactly what they need to do when they receive their new order.
- Log into your WooCommerce admin panel.
- Click on Orders > All Orders. This will take you to a list of all orders placed on your store.
- Find the order that you need to resend the Order Received email for and click on it.
- On the Order Details page, scroll down to the Order Actions section and click on Resend Order Email. A pop-up window will appear asking you to confirm that you want to resend the Order Email.
Note:
If you have made changes to the order (e.g., changed the status), be sure to check the box next to “Include changes in email” before clicking on OK. This will ensure that your customer receives updated information about their order.
- Click on OK. The Order Received email will be sent to the customer.
The above steps will show you how easy it is to send an Order Received email to a customer in WooCommerce. By following these steps, you can be sure that your customers are kept up-to-date on their orders and that they know what stage of fulfillment their orders are in.
