If you’re running a WooCommerce store, you’ve probably noticed that there are no product ratings visible on the frontend. This is because WooCommerce doesn’t come with built-in product ratings, but that doesn’t mean you can’t add them. In this article, we’ll show you how to set product rating in WooCommerce.
Before we dive into the tutorial, let’s first take a look at why you might want to add product ratings to your store.
Why Add Product Ratings in WooCommerce?
Product ratings can be a valuable addition to any WooCommerce store. Here are a few reasons why:
- They Help Increase Sales: Studies have shown that product ratings can increase sales by up to 18%.
- They Help Build Trust: Customer reviews are one of the most important trust signals for online shoppers. By displaying ratings on your products, you can increase trust and confidence in your brand.
- They Help You Improve Your Products: Customer feedback is crucial for any business, and product ratings provide an easy way for customers to share their thoughts on your products. By monitoring your ratings, you can quickly identify areas where your products need improvement.
As you can see, there are plenty of good reasons to add product ratings to your WooCommerce store. Now let’s take a look at how to actually do it.
How to Set Product Rating in WooCommerce
There are two parts to setting up product rating in WooCommerce: installing a plugin and configuring the plugin settings. We’ll walk you through both parts below.
Installing a Plugin
There are a few different plugins you can use to add product rating in WooCommerce. We recommend using the Advanced Reviews plugin fromPluginHive. It’s easy to use and comes with all the features you need, including support for multiple rating types, shortcodes, and review moderation.
To install the plugin, head over to your WordPress dashboard and navigate to Plugins > Add New. Then search for “Advanced Reviews” and install the plugin from PluginHive.
Configuring the Plugin Settings
Once the plugin is installed and activated, head over to Advanced Reviews > Settings from your WordPress dashboard. Here you can configure the plugin settings to suit your needs. Let’s take a look at some of the most important settings:
Review Moderation: This setting allows you to choose whether reviews must be approved before they’re displayed on your site. We recommend leaving this setting enabled so that you can moderate reviews before they’re made public.
Enable Guest Reviews: This setting allows customers to submit reviews without creating an account on your site. We recommend leaving this setting enabled so that anyone can submit a review.
Require Login For Review Submission: If this setting is enabled, customers must be logged in to submit a review. If it’s disabled, anyone can submit a review (including guests).
Allow Upvoting/Downvoting Of Reviews: This setting allows customers to upvote or downvote reviews. We recommend leaving this setting enabled so that customers can easily signal which reviews they found helpful (or not).
Enable Rich Snippets: This setting allows Google Rich Snippets to be displayed on your product pages (if supported by your theme). We recommend leaving this setting enabled so that Google can display star ratings next to your products in search results pages.
Once you’ve configured the settings to your liking, click “Save Changes” at the bottom of the page.
That’s all there is to it! You’ve now successfully added product rating in WooCommerce.
