How Do I Set Shipping Classes in WooCommerce?

When you first open WooCommerce, you will be asked to select your preferred currency and country. After that, you will be able to set up your shipping classes. Select the Add Shipping Class button to get started.

You will need to provide a Shipping Class Name and a Slug. The name is for your internal reference, while the slug will be used in the URL for the class.

After that, you can set a description for the class if you want. This is optional but can be helpful if you have a lot of classes and need to keep them straight.

PRO TIP: When setting up shipping classes in WooCommerce, be sure to double-check the shipping rates that you have set up. If you accidentally set a shipping class to a higher rate than another class, it could cause problems with your shipping charges.

Then, you can choose whether or not to enable Free Shipping for the class. If you enable it, customers will see a Free Shipping option at checkout if their order contains any products from this class.

Finally, you can assign a flat rate shipping cost to the class. This is the amount that will be charged for shipping any products in this class, regardless of how many items are ordered.
