When you first set up your Shopify account, you choose your default shipping rate. This is the rate that you charge your customers for shipping, no matter where they are located.
If you want to offer different shipping rates to different countries, or if you want to offer free shipping, you can create shipping zones in Shopify. A shipping zone is a group of countries that you want to ship to, and each shipping zone has its own shipping rates.
To set up USPS shipping on Shopify:
- From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Shipping and delivery.
- Under Shipping zones, click Add shipping zone.
- In the Add a new shipping zone dialog, enter the name of the shipping zone.
- Note: Shipping zones can be named after countries, regions, or anything else that makes sense for your business. For example, you could name a shipping zone “United States” or “North America”.
- (Optional) In the description field, enter a short description of the shipping zone.
- (Optional) In the tag field, enter a tag for the shipping zone.
First, you will need to create a shipping label for each order. You can do this through the Shopify interface, or you can use a third-party service like Shipstation.
Second, you will need to make sure that your products are properly packaged and that the correct postage is applied to each package. If you are using Shopify’s built-in shipping labels, you will need to enter the weight and dimensions of your products manually.
Third, keep in mind that USPS does not offer tracking for First Class packages. If you want to offer tracking to your customers, you will need to upgrade to Priority Mail.
Finally, be aware that there may be some additional fees associated with using USPS for your shipping needs. Make sure to factor these into your overall shipping costs.
- (Optional) Under Countries included in this zone, click Add countries and select the countries that you want to ship to.
After you add all of the countries that you ship to in your new shipping zone, click Save.
Now that you’ve created a new shipping zone, you need to add at least one shipping rate for it.
To add a new USPS Shipping rate:
