Product pages in WooCommerce are where you display your products to potential customers. This is where they will learn about your product, what it does, and (most importantly) how to buy it.
Product pages are important for both SEO and conversion optimization, so it’s important to get them right. In this article, we’ll show you how to create a product page in WooCommerce, and give you some tips on how to make it as effective as possible.
Creating a Product Page in WooCommerce
The first thing you need to do is create a new product page in WooCommerce. To do this, go to WooCommerce > Products > Add New. You’ll then be taken to the product page editor, which will look similar to the post editor.
Start by adding a title and description for your product. The title will be used as the product’s name, so make sure it’s catchy and descriptive.
The description is where you’ll give potential customers more information about the product. Use this space to sell them on why they need your product.
Once you’ve added a title and description, scroll down to the ‘Product Data’ section. This is where you’ll add all the important details about your product, such as the price, SKU, and inventory management settings.
However, displaying a single product page can have some unintended consequences. For example, if you have other products in your WooCommerce store, they will still be accessible via the URL of the single product page. This means that people could potentially find your other products by accident, and it could also affect your SEO if people are able to find and index these pages.
Additionally, displaying a single product page can cause problems with your WooCommerce checkout process. This is because the WooCommerce checkout process is designed to work with multiple products, and it may not function correctly if only a single product is displayed on the page.
Therefore, we recommend that you only display a single product page on your WooCommerce store if you are sure that this is what you want to do. If you are not sure, or if you are worried about any of the potential consequences, we recommend that you stick to displaying your products in the standard way.
In the ‘General’ tab of the ‘Product Data’ section, you can add a price for your product. You can also set whether the product is taxable, if shipping is required, and whether it’s sold individually or in quantities.
The ‘Inventory’ tab is where you can manage your stock levels and backorders. If you’re selling physical products, we recommend setting up inventory management so you don’t oversell or run out of stock.
Adding Images and Videos
No product page is complete without images and videos. These help potential customers visualize what they’re buying, and can be powerful tools for selling your products.
.
To add images to your product page, scroll down to the ‘Product Images’ section and click ‘Add Images’. You can then upload images from your computer or choose from ones that are already in your media library.
You can also add videos to your product pages. To do this, scroll down to the ‘Product Videos’ section and click ‘Add Video’. You can then enter a URL for a video hosted on YouTube or Vimeo, or upload a video file from your computer.
