How do I straighten a skewed image in Photoshop?

Last updated on September 23, 2022 @ 8:19 pm

When you image has a skewed shape, it can be difficult to get it looking perfectly horizontal and vertical in Photoshop. There are a few different methods you can use to straighten an image, but the best way to find out is to experiment.

One method is to use the Distort tool to stretch or distort the image. You can use different settings to get the desired result.

PRO TIP: When straightening a skewed image in Photoshop, be sure to use the Crop Tool (not the Transform Tool) so you don’t lose any pixels in your image.

Another method is to use the Crop tool to cut out the distorted parts of the image and then paste them back in. You can also use the Horizontal and Vertical Align tools to align the image correctly.

Once you have the image looking perfectly horizontal and vertical, you can save it as a new file or copy and paste it into another document. You can also use the Free Transform tool to move the image around and fix any other minor issues.

The best way to learn how to straighten an image is to experiment and find the method that works best for you. Hopefully, this guide was helpful.
