How Do I Temporarily Close WooCommerce Store?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 9:28 pm

It’s not uncommon for businesses to want or need to take a break. Maybe you’re going on vacation, or taking some time off for a family emergency. Whatever the reason, there are a few things you need to do to make sure your WooCommerce store is prepared for your absence.

The first thing you need to do is create a maintenance page. This page will be what your customers see when they try to access your store. You can use this page to let them know why your store is closed, and when you expect to reopen.

To create a maintenance page, you’ll need to create a new file in your WordPress theme directory. The file should be called “maintenance.php”.

Once you’ve created the file, you’ll need to add the following code to it:

$maintenance_mode = true;

if ( $maintenance_mode ) {

require_once( ABSPATH . ‘wp-admin/includes/plugin.php’ );

deactivate_plugins( plugin_basename( __FILE__ ) );

}

.

We’re Sorry!

.

Our store is currently closed. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope to reopen soon.

PRO TIP: If you are considering temporarily closing your WooCommerce store, there are a few things to keep in mind. First, make sure that you have taken care of any outstanding orders. Next, you will need to deactivate all plugins and themes associated with WooCommerce. Finally, you will need to update your site’s .htaccess file to redirect traffic away from your store.

.

.

require_once( ABSPATH .php’ );.

deactivate_plugins( plugin_basename( __FILE__ ) );.

} ?>.
