How Do I Transfer My Website From GoDaddy to Squarespace?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 9:19 am

There are a few steps involved in transferring your website from GoDaddy to Squarespace. The first step is to export your GoDaddy website content into an XML file.

This can be done from within your GoDaddy account by going to the “Domain Manager” and selecting “Export Website.” Once you have exported your content, you will need to create a new Squarespace account and then import your content into it.

PRO TIP: If you are considering transferring your website from GoDaddy to Squarespace, there are a few things you should be aware of. First, your website’s domain name will need to be transferred to Squarespace, which can take up to a week. Secondly, any email accounts associated with your GoDaddy account will also need to be transferred to Squarespace. Finally, any files or databases associated with your website will need to be moved over to Squarespace as well. While Squarespace does offer a free trial, you will ultimately need to pay for a subscription in order to keep your website live on their platform.

To import your content into Squarespace, go to the “Settings” tab and select “Import / Export.” From here, you will need to select the “Import” option and then choose the XML file that you exported from GoDaddy. Once your content has been imported, you will need to select a template for your website and then customize it to match your brand.

Once you have transferred your website from GoDaddy to Squarespace, you can start using all of the powerful features that Squarespace has to offer. These features include a drag-and-drop interface, eCommerce capabilities, and 24/7 customer support. With Squarespace, you can easily create a professional website that looks great and functions well.
