It’s pretty easy to turn off out of stock products in WooCommerce. Simply go to WooCommerce > Settings > Products and select the ‘Don’t show out of stock products’ option. This will hide all products that are currently out of stock from your shop pages and archives.
PRO TIP: If you are considering turning off out of stock in WooCommerce, please be aware that this may impact your sales negatively. While it may seem like a good idea to keep customers from seeing out of stock items, it can actually discourage them from shopping with you in the future. When customers see that an item they want is out of stock, they may assume that it is because your store is not well-stocked or that you do not have their size/color/style in stock. This could lead them to believe that they will not be able to find what they are looking for at your store and they may take their business elsewhere.
If you want to take things a step further, you can also choose to hide individual products that are out of stock. To do this, go to WooCommerce > Products and select the product you want to hide. On the product edit page, scroll down to the ‘Inventory’ section and check the ‘Hide out of stock items from the catalog’ option.
