How Do I Turn on Auto Selection in Photoshop?

If you’re using Photoshop CC, you can turn on auto selection by going to Preferences > General > Auto Select. Then, simply check the box next to “Auto Select.”

You can also change the default setting for auto select by clicking on the drop-down menu and selecting “Layer,” “Group,” or “Object.”

If you’re using an older version of Photoshop, you can turn on auto selection by going to Edit > Preferences > General.”

Once you’ve turned on auto selection, you can use it by selecting the Move Tool from the Toolbar. Then, simply click and drag your cursor over the area you want to select.

The area will be highlighted in blue, indicating that it’s been selected. You can then move or edit the selected area as desired.

PRO TIP: This feature is not available in Photoshop.
