How do I turn on Smart Guides in Photoshop?

Last updated on September 23, 2022 @ 8:13 pm

If you’re using Photoshop, you can easily turn on “Smart Guides” by going to the “View” menu, and selecting “Smart Guides.” This will overlay a series of gridlines on your image, which you can use to help guide your edits.

You can also adjust the gridlines’ size and opacity, and toggle them on and off as needed.

PRO TIP: When using Smart Guides in Photoshop, be aware that they can interfere with your ability to accurately select and move objects. If you find yourself struggling to select or move an object, try turning off Smart Guides temporarily.

Once you’ve turned on Smart Guides, you’ll want to use them to help guide your edits. For example, you can use the gridlines to line up elements perfectly, or to help guide the placement of objects.

If you’re ever unsure about where to place an object, simply use the gridlines as a guide.

Overall, Smart Guides are a great way to help you edit your images. They’re easy to use, and provide a helpful guide for your edits.
