Last updated on December 13, 2022 @ 1:43 am

If you have a Squarespace site, you can unlock your domain by following these steps:

    1. Log into your Squarespace account and go to the Domains page.

    2. Click the domain you want to unlock.

    3. Under “Domain Status,” click Unlock.

    4. Enter the unlocking code that was sent to your email address, then click Unlock.

If you need help unlocking your domain, contact Squarespace support.

PRO TIP: If you have registered a domain through Squarespace, you can unlock it if you’d like to transfer it to another registrar. However, there are a few things to keep in mind before doing so:

Once you unlock your domain, you have 60 days to transfer it to another registrar before it expires.

If your domain is still active with Squarespace when it expires, you’ll need to renew it through Squarespace before transferring it.

There is a $20 fee to unlock your domain. This fee is refunded if you transfer your domain within 60 days.
