There are a few ways to update MySQL in cPanel HostGator. If you are using the cPanel web interface, you can access the MySQL Server Status page and click on the “Update” button next to the MySQL version number.

PRO TIP: If you are using cPanel HostGator to manage your MySQL databases, it is important to keep your MySQL version up to date. Outdated versions of MySQL can be vulnerable to security exploits and may not work with newer applications. To update your MySQL version, login to cPanel and click on the “MySQL Databases” icon. On the next page, under the “Current Version” heading, click on the “Change” link. Select the latest stable version of MySQL from the drop-down menu and click on the “Update Version” button.

If you are using the cPanel command line interface, you can use the mysql update command. If you are using a third-party management tool, such as Plesk, you may need to contact the vendor for instructions on updating MySQL.

When you update MySQL, you should also update the package that hosts your MySQL server. This will ensure that your MySQL server is up-to-date with the latest security patches and bug fixes.
