Last updated on September 25, 2022 @ 7:29 pm

Updating PHP on HostGator cPanel can be a bit tricky. The best way to do it is to use the cPanel control panel.

You can also use the update script provided by HostGator.

To use the control panel, first login to your cPanel account. Then, open the Control Panel and select the PHP tab.

PRO TIP: If you are using HostGator’s cPanel to manage your website, you may be wondering how to update your PHP version. PHP is a server-side scripting language that is used to power many dynamic websites and applications. While HostGator always strives to have the latest stable version of PHP available on our servers, there may be times when you need to use a specific version of PHP for your application or website. In this article, we will show you how to change the PHP version in cPanel.

Before we begin, please note that HostGator only supports specific versions of PHP on our servers. While you may be able to select any version of PHP in cPanel, only certain versions will actually work on our servers. Additionally, using an unsupported version of PHP may result in unexpected errors or instability on your website.

On the PHP tab, you will see the version of PHP that is currently installed on your server. To update PHP, select the PHP version that you want to update and click the Update PHP button.

To use the update script, first login to your cPanel account. Then, open the Update Scripts folder and select the PHP Update file.

On the Update PHP file, you will see the instructions on how to update PHP.
