How Do I Use Custom CSS in Squarespace?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 9:20 am

Adding custom CSS to your Squarespace site is a great way to give it a unique look and feel. There are two ways to do this: through the Custom CSS Editor in your site’s Settings, or by using a third-party CSS injection tool.

The Custom CSS Editor is a powerful tool that lets you add your own CSS code to any Squarespace template. To access it, go to Settings > Advanced > Code Injection. Paste your CSS code into the box labeled “Custom CSS” and click Save.

If you’re not comfortable working with code, or if you want more control over how your custom CSS is applied, you can use a third-party CSS injection tool like Simple Custom CSS and JS. This plugin lets you add your own CSS and JavaScript code to any Squarespace site, without having to edit the code of your template.

PRO TIP: Custom CSS is an advanced feature and is not recommended for beginners. If you are not comfortable working with code, we recommend contacting a Squarespace Expert.

To use Simple Custom CSS and JS, first install the plugin on your site. Then go to Settings > Advanced > Code Injection and paste your CSS code into the box labeled “Custom CSS”.

You can also add JavaScript code here if you want. Click Save and you’re done!

Adding custom CSS to your Squarespace site is a great way to make it look unique and stand out from the crowd. With just a few clicks, you can add your own CSS code to any template, or use a third-partyCSS injection tool like Simple Custom CSS and JS for even more control over how your site looks.
