How Do I Use Icons in Squarespace?

Icons are a great way to add visual interest to your website and help visitors navigate your content. Squarespace offers a wide variety of icons that you can use on your site. Here’s how to add and style icons in Squarespace:

Adding Icons

You can add icons to your site using the Content Blocks editor. To do this, simply click on the “Content” tab in the left-hand sidebar and then click on the “Content Blocks” icon.

PRO TIP: Icons are a great way to add visual interest to your Squarespace site, but be aware that they can also be a bit tricky to use. Here are a few things to keep in mind when using icons on your site:

1. Make sure the icon you’re using is legible and easy to understand. Don’t use an icon just because it looks cool – make sure it makes sense in the context of your site.

2. Be careful not to overuse icons. A few well-placed icons can add a lot of visual interest, but too many can make your site look cluttered and confusing.

3. Pay attention to the color of your icons. Make sure they contrast well with the background color of your site so they’re easy to see.

4. Use vector icons whenever possible. Vector icons are scalable and will look great on any device, no matter the size.

5. Keep accessibility in mind when using icons. Some visitors may be using screen readers or other assistive technologies that may not be able to interpret icons properly. Be sure to provide alternative text for each icon you use on your site.

Once you’re in the Content Blocks editor, scroll down to the “Icons” section and click on the icon you want to use. You can then drag and drop the icon into your content area.

Styling Icons

You can style icons using the Style Editor. To access the Style Editor, click on the “Design” tab in the left-hand sidebar and then click on the “Style Editor” icon.

Once you’re in the Style Editor, scroll down to the “Icons” section. Here you can change the color, size, and other styles of your icons.
