How Do I Use WooCommerce Shipping Classes?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 7:37 pm

WooCommerce shipping classes allow you to group similar products together and then offer different shipping rates for those products. For example, you could have a shipping class for heavy products and another shipping class for light products. You could then offer different shipping rates for those two classes of products.

To set up WooCommerce shipping classes, go to WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping > Shipping Classes. From here, you can add, edit, and delete shipping classes. To add a new shipping class, click the Add Shipping Class button.

Give your shipping class a name, a slug, and a description. The name is what you’ll see in the admin area, while the slug is used in the code. The description is optional but can be useful to remind you what the shipping class is for.

Once you’ve added your shipping class, you can start adding products to it. To do this, go to WooCommerce > Products and edit a product. On the product edit page, scroll down to the Shipping section and select the shipping class from the dropdown menu.
