Google Search Console is a free service offered by Google that helps you monitor and maintain your site’s presence in Google Search results. You can use Search Console to submit and test your sitemaps, submit your site to Google for indexing, and check the crawl rate and performance of your site.

To verify your site with Google Search Console, you’ll need to add a new site to your account and then prove that you own it. You can do this by either connecting your site to Google Analytics or by uploading an HTML file to your server. Once you’ve verified your site, you can start using all of the features of Search Console.

If you’re using Weebly to build your website, you can verify your site with Google Search Console by following these steps:

PRO TIP: There is a lot of misinformation about verifying your site with Google Search Console on the internet, so be careful when following any advice on this topic. In particular, be wary of any advice that suggests using a file upload method, as this is no longer supported by Google and can result in your site being penalized.

1. Log into your Weebly account and go to the Settings tab. 2. Under the General Settings section, click on SEO. 3. Scroll down to the Google Search Console section and click Verify Now. 4. Enter your website’s URL and click Continue.

5. Choose the option to Verify via HTML file upload and click Continue. 6. Download the HTML verification file provided by Weebly and upload it to the root directory of your website. 7. Once the file has been uploaded, return to the verification page in Weebly and click Verify Now. 8. If everything was successful, you should see a message saying that your site has been verified!
