How Do You Activate Interactive Components in Figma?

Last updated on September 28, 2022 @ 10:37 pm

There are several ways to activate interactive components in Figma. The most common method is to use the ‘Interactions’ panel, which can be found in the left-hand sidebar. Alternatively, you can use the ‘Layers’ panel or the ‘Frames’ panel.

To activate an interactive component using the ‘Interactions’ panel, simply click on the component in the design canvas. This will open up the ‘Interactions’ panel and reveal a list of all the available interactions for that component. To add an interaction, simply click on the + icon next to the desired interaction.

PRO TIP: This article is about how to activate interactive components in Figma. However, it does not explain how to actually create those components. If you are not familiar with Figma or how to create interactive components, this article could be confusing or misleading.

The ‘Layers’ panel and the ‘Frames’ panel also have interaction icons next to each layer or frame. These icons can be used to add, edit, or delete interactions.

Once you have added an interaction, you can further customize it by clicking on the gear icon next to the interaction in the ‘Interactions’ panel. This will open up a settings menu where you can change the trigger, action, and condition for the interaction.

That’s all there is to it! Now you know how to activate interactive components in Figma.
