Weebly is a great platform for building websites, but one of its drawbacks is that it can be difficult to change the look of your site once it’s up and running. If you’re not happy with the default Weebly themes, or if you want to create a completely custom look for your website, you’ll need to edit the HTML code. This can be a bit daunting if you’re not familiar with coding, but don’t worry – we’ll walk you through the process step by step.
First, log in to your Weebly account and go to the Edit HTML/CSS page. You can find this under the Theme tab in the left-hand sidebar. Once you’re on the Edit HTML/CSS page, click on the Main Index tab at the top of the page. This will bring up the HTML code for your homepage.
Scroll down until you see the “Weebly Footer”. This is where Weebly inserts its own branding and links, and it’s also where we’re going to add our custom theme.
Just below the Weebly Footer, you’ll see a section called “End of Page Code”. This is where we’ll add our custom CSS code.
Now, open up a new tab in your browser and go to Google’s CSS Themes. There are a lot of great free themes available here. Once you’ve found one you like, click on the “Raw” button to view the CSS code. Copy all of this code and paste it into the “End of Page Code” section in Weebly.
Now scroll back up to the top of the page and find the “Preview” button. Click this button to see how your site will look with the new theme applied. If you like what you see, click “Publish”. Otherwise, feel free to experiment with different themes until you find one that you’re happy with.
