How Do You Add Brush Strokes in Photoshop?

Last updated on September 24, 2022 @ 1:40 am

Adding brush strokes in Photoshop is a great way to add some extra detail and realism to your work. There are a few different ways to do this, but the most common and easiest way is to use the brush tool.

To use the brush tool, simply select it from the toolbar on the left hand side of the screen. Then, choose the size, shape and hardness of your brush from the options at the top of the screen. Once you’ve done that, you can start painting!

If you want to add some textured brush strokes, you can do this by selecting a textured brush from the options at the top of the screen. Alternatively, you can create your own custom brushes by clicking on the “Create new brush” icon at the bottom of the screen.

Once you’re happy with your brush strokes, you can add a layer mask and paint over any areas that you want to keep or remove. You can also change the opacity and blend mode of your brush strokes to get different effects. Experimenting is key here, so don’t be afraid to try out different things until you find something that looks good.

When you’re happy with your image, simply save it and you’re done!

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with Photoshop, or if you are new to digital painting, you may want to avoid using the “Brush Strokes” feature. This feature can easily create an unnatural and unprofessional looking image.
