Adding a metallic effect to text is a great way to add some extra flair to your designs. There are a few different ways you can go about doing this in Photoshop.

One way is to use the layer styles options. To do this, simply select the layer that contains your text and then click on the “fx” icon at the bottom of the layers panel. From here, choose “Gradient Overlay” from the list of options.

Next, click on the gradient preview bar to open up the gradient editor. Choose a metallic gradient from the preset options or create your own by clicking on the color stops and choosing your colors. Once you’re happy with your gradient, click OK to close the gradient editor and then adjust the layer’s opacity to taste.

Another way you can add a metallic effect to text is by using a brush. First, create a new layer above your text layer and then select a soft round brush from the brush palette.

PRO TIP: Please be aware that adding a metallic effect to text in Photoshop can be dangerous. If not done correctly, it can lead to a loss of data and/or your text becoming unreadable.

Next, choose a metallic color from the swatches palette and paint over your text. Again, adjust the layer’s opacity to taste.

You can also combine these two methods by using both a layer style and a brush. Simply follow the steps above for each method and then adjust the layer’s opacity until you’re happy with the results.

Adding a metallic effect to text is a great way to add some extra flair to your designs.

Using layer styles or brushes are both effective methods that will give you great results. Experiment with both methods until you find a look that you like best.
