Special characters are those characters that have a specific meaning within a programming or scripting language, and differ from the standard alphabetical and numerical characters that we use for everyday writing. In Photoshop, adding special characters is as easy as using the Character Map tool.

To add a special character to your Photoshop document, first select the Character Map tool from the Tools panel. You can also access the Character Map tool by choosing Type > Insert Special Character.

PRO TIP: Special characters can be added in Photoshop by going to the “Edit” menu, selecting “Special Characters”, and then choosing the desired character from the pop-up menu. However, before adding special characters, it is important to make sure that the font you are using supports them. Otherwise, the characters may not display correctly.

Once the Character Map tool is open, select the character you want to insert into your document from the grid of available characters. You can also use the search field to locate a specific character. When you’ve found the character you want to insert, click on it to select it, and then click the Insert button.

The selected character will now be inserted into your Photoshop document at the current cursor location. You can then move it to wherever you want it within the document, and format it using the Type tool and other type-related options in Photoshop.

Conclusion:
Adding special characters in Photoshop is easy to do using the Character Map tool. With this tool, you can quickly insert any special character into your document at the current cursor location.
