How do you blur in Photoshop?

Last updated on September 23, 2022 @ 7:46 pm

Blurring is a technique used in photography and graphic design to soften the outline of an object or the edges of a photo. It is often used to remove distractions from a photo or to create a more subtle effect.

In Photoshop, there are a number of ways to blur an image.

One method is to use the Gaussian Blur filter. To do this, first select the image you want to blur, and then click on the Filter menu and choose Blur.

In the Blur dialog box, select Gaussian Blur and drag the slider to the desired degree of blur.

PRO TIP: While blurring in Photoshop can create some interesting effects, it’s important to be aware that over-blurring can result in a loss of image quality. When blurring an image, be sure to use a low setting and avoid blurring large areas of the image.

Another way to blur an image is to use the Motion Blur filter.

In the Blur dialog box, select Motion Blur and drag the slider to the desired degree of blur.

Finally, you can use the Gaussian Blur and the Motion Blur filters together to create a more complex blur effect.

In the Blur dialog box, select Gaussian Blur and then click on the Motion Blur button. Drag the Motion Blur slider to the desired degree of blur.
