How Do You Create a Frozen Font in Photoshop?

Last updated on September 24, 2022 @ 1:05 pm

Frozen fonts are all the rage these days, and Photoshop is the perfect program to create them! Here’s how:

First, open up a new document in Photoshop. Make sure the background is set to transparent and that you’re using a white foreground color.

Then, use the text tool to type out your text. It’s important to use a thin font so that the ice effect is more pronounced.

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with Photoshop, or do not have a strong understanding of typography, we would not recommend trying to create a frozen font in Photoshop. This tutorial covers a lot of ground very quickly, and assumes a certain level of knowledge about the software. Without this foundation, you may find yourself lost or creating something that is less than ideal.

Once you have your text typed out, go to Filter > Render > Frosted Glass. Use a setting of around 50 for the Frost Amount and 10 for the Scale. Click “OK” when you’re done.

Now your text should look like it’s frozen! If you want to add some more icy effects, try using different filters from the Render menu, such as “Clouds” or “Difference Clouds.” Experiment until you get the look you want.

And there you have it! You now know how to create a frozen font in Photoshop. So get creative and have fun with it!
