Creating an abstract background in Illustrator is easy. The first step is to create a new document. Next, select the Rectangular Grid tool and draw a rectangle on the document. Click on the Options bar and choose the Radial Gradient option. In the radial gradient dialog box, set the start color to black and the end color to white. Click on the OK button to close the dialog box. Next, select the Ellipse tool and draw an ellipse on the document. Click on the Options bar and choose the radial gradient option.

PRO TIP: When creating an abstract background in Illustrator, be sure to use a variety of colors and shapes to create an interesting design. Overusing one color or shape can make your background look boring and uninspired. Also, be sure to vary the size and placement of your shapes to create a more dynamic design.

Click on the OK button to close the dialog box. Next, select the Rectangle tool and draw a rectangle on the document. Click on the Options bar and choose the Bezier Gradient option. In the Bezier gradient dialog box, set the start color to black and the end color to white. Next, select the Gradient tool and click on the Add New Gradient button. In the Add New Gradient dialog box, select the radial gradient and click on the OK button to close the dialog box. Finally, select the background color in the Background palette and click on the OK button to close the document.
