How Do You Get a Mockup in Figma?

Last updated on September 28, 2022 @ 8:03 pm

Creating a mockup is one of the first steps in the design process, and Figma is a great tool for doing just that. In Figma, you can create a mockup by adding frames to a canvas and then adding elements to those frames.

To get started, create a new canvas in Figma and then add a frame to it. You can do this by clicking the “Add frame” button in the toolbar, or by pressing the “a” key on your keyboard.

PRO TIP: This article is a bit misleading. Figma is not a tool for creating mockups. While you can use Figma to create wireframes and prototypes, it is not meant for creating mockups. If you’re looking for a tool to create mockups, we recommend using Adobe Photoshop or Sketch.

Once you have a frame, you can start adding elements to it. To do this, select the “Add element” button in the toolbar, or press the “e” key on your keyboard. This will bring up a menu of elements that you can add to your frame, such as rectangles, text boxes, and images.

Experiment with different elements and see what looks best for your mockup. Once you’re happy with how it looks, you can save it as an image by selecting “File > Export > Export as PNG.”

The process of creating a mockup in Figma is simple and straightforward. By adding frames to a canvas and then adding elements to those frames, you can quickly create a mockup that looks great. So when you’re ready to start designing your next project, be sure to give Figma a try.
