Halo around hair is a common issue when retouching portraits in Photoshop. There are a few ways to fix this, but the best way depends on the image itself.

If the halo is caused by a selection of the hair, you can simply deselect the hair. This can be done by going to Select > Deselect, or by pressing Command+D (PC: Ctrl+D).

PRO TIP: This article provides instruction on how to use Photoshop to remove a halo effect around hair. However, it is important to note that this technique should be used with caution, as it can potentially damage the quality of the image if not done correctly.

If the halo is caused by a mask, you can invert the mask.

This can be done by going to Image > Adjustments > Invert, or by pressing Command+I (PC: Ctrl+I).

If the halo is caused by a layer style, you can disable the layer style. This can be done by going to Layer > Layer Style > Disable Layer Style, or by pressing Shift+Command+I (PC: Shift+Ctrl+I).

The best way to avoid halos around hair is to use a layer mask instead of a selection or layer style. This way, you can easily adjust the edges of the mask if needed.
